She's Here!

So a lot has happened in 12 hours.  Nurses kept comming in about every hour so I didnt get any sleep.  Heather didn't sleep either, but it was more because the medicine was starting the contractions.   Around 4am Heather preformed her blood pressure trick again, so we were moved down to the Labor and Delivery room so they could keep a closer eye on her.  At that time, she got the epidural so that she didn't have to worry about it later.  Once Heather was hooked up to all the monitoring devices, she went to sleep.  It took me a little longer to get settled in.  They like to keep those rooms well air conditioned, and apparently our room was right by the pneumatic tube system so every now and again a rumble would come by.  It sounded like someone was racing gurneys on the floor above us.

At about 8 in the morning, the nurse came by to check on how Heather was progressing.  She had reached 8cm dialated and her water was just about to break.  The doctor came in and broke the water, and the nurse told Heather to start pushing.  After about 3 pushes, she told Heather to stop pushing and that she needed to go get the doctor.   I got my first peak at some beautiful light brown hair.

The doctor came in with his whole crew and Heather pushed 3 or 4 times and the baby was out.  Pictures below.
