Hudson party

The big news this past week is that Hudson has begun to sleep through the night. Sunday, he slept till 3:30am. Monday, he slept to 5:30am. Heather and I were starting to get all excited that this was his new sleeping schedule, and to celebrate, we stayed up late till 11 the next night assuming we would get a full nights rest. Instead, that night night, Hudson decided to wake up at midnight and fuss till 3am.Fortunately, last night, he went back to sleeping till 3am again.
Hudson loves to be held. If we set him down to cook dinner, then he begins to get upset. Fortunately, Sara Beth is a great big sister and tries to keep him entertained until we can pick him back up again.
Heather talks about how big Hudson's smiles are. They start at the top of his head and reach all the way down to the bottom of his feet. Hudson smiles a lot more for Heather than for me, but every now and again, he will break out into a huge grin for me as well.

Whew

Well the past week has been a blur. On Monday, a friend at work asked me what I did over the weekend, and I couldn't remember. I think it involved Hudson fussing though. This past week, Hudson has definitely been exercising his lungs instead of sleeping. Today, Heather took Hudson to the doctor, and he prescribed a different acid reflux medicine. Hudson took the medicine, slept for nearly 5 hours, and woke up full of smiles and sunshine. He is back to being a sweet happy baby.
Hudson does enjoy sitting in my lap at dinner time. Ignore the rings around my eyes.
Sara Beth doesn't sit in a seat quite as well as her brother once she is done eating. Instead, she tries to grab a bite of Heather's rice crispy treat. Initially, she tried to grab mine, but I stuffed mine in my mouth before she could grab it.
Sara beth takes being a big sister seriously. She will try to help keep Hudson happy. She will bring him toys, play peek-a-boo with him, or help hold in his pacifier.
This past week, Sara Beth had a specific plan on how she wanted her hair done. She directed Heather on where to put the braids and where to put the bows. She willingly let herself be photographed with a smile on her face once she saw how good her idea turned out.

Visit from the wise men

Sara Beth must have been paying attention to her Sunday school lessons around Christmas; her latest fad is dressing up in a blanket and crown and then claiming to be one of the wise men that came to see Jesus. I asked her if she was a wise woman, but Sara Beth didn't seem too keen on it since they weren't mentioned in that Bible story.
Hudson is growing like a weed. We now have had several people come up to us and tell us that he is now a real baby and no longer a newborn. We have had to put up all his newborn clothes and have moved into the 3-6 month clothes.
Sara Beth and Hudson pose for the camera, but I think that Hudson was more interested in getting his breakfast than in getting his picture taken.
Monday morning, when Hudson was napping, Sara Beth and Heather spent a morning playing "hair salon." They washed, combed and brushed a full assortment of dolls and stuffed animals.
So supposedly, it is winter. I'm not really convinced. A couple days, after I get home, we have gone as a family to the park. Sara Beth has become much more proficient at riding her bicycle. I have only had to carry it home once.
We put Hudson in the swing for the first time. His eyes opened wide up. I couldn't tell if that meant that he liked it, or that he was scared of it. I'll assume the first option and keep putting him in there.
